OBITUARIES
EARL EUGENE WILSON
Earl Eugene Wilson died at his home Wednesday Aug. 6, following an extended illness. He was 55. Mr. Wilson was born in La Grande April 8, 1925, the son of Charles E. and Urania E. "Billie" (Hunter) Wilson and lived here most of his lifetime with the exception of time in the service. He enlisted Aug. 22,
1943 and retired following 20 years of service in the U.S. Army, being discharged in 1964. He married Myrtle E. Buckley May 9, 1975 in La Grande and she preceded him in death April 11, 1980. Mr. Wilson is survived by his mother, Mrs. Urania E. "Billie" Wilson, of La Grande, daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Curle, of Rosewell, N.M. and Susan Marie Wilson of California; a son Patrick Michael Wilson, was Killed in a auto accident July 10, 1973; a brother, Edwyn J., U.S. Navy of Hawaii, and sisters, Mrs. Eleanor (Glen) Campbell, of Imbler, Mrs. Betty Snell, of Hermiston, and Mrs. Evelyn Horn, of Anacortes, Wash., and a granddaughter, Rebecca Curl. He was a member of FOE, La Grande Area No. 259 and La Grande Chapter of American Legion. Funeral Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carson Chaplin officiating. Private interment to be in the Willamette National Cemetery beside his wife. Services and arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel.
