Alexander Stronach was the son of William Barron Stronach and Lydia Jewel Leach.

When the Capital building in Raleigh, North Carolina was constructed in the 1830's to replace the original building which was destroyed by fire, Alexander's 2rd great grandfather, William Stronach was awarded the contract for the foundation.

Alexander married Leora Canfield in 1945 in Duval County, Florida
