Gracie Fern Adams, 64, died March 11, 2005, in Thayer, MO. Born April 14, 1940, in Koshkonong, MO, she was the daughter of the late Fred Howell and Ada Standley Howell.
She was united in marriage July 14, 1961, in Koshkonong, MO, to Elmer Adams.
She was employed by the Thayer School District as a cook for both high school and elementary, working for 13 year, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of Midway Pentecostal Church in Thayer.
She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother, always putting her family first. She enjoyed telling others about her two grandchildren that she loved so much. She will be missed by her family and many friends.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer of the home in Thayer, MO; a daughter, Carolyn Renee Lowary and husband, Tommy, of Thayer, MO; a son, David Leo Adams and wife, LaJena of Thayer, MO; two grandchildren; four brothers, Vernon Howell of Koshkonong, MO; Jack Howell of Mammoth Spring, AR; Wayne Howell of Koshkonong, MO; and Paul Howell of Thayer, MO; and a sister, Violet Reed of Springfield, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Virgil Howell and Van Howell.
The funeral was March 14, 2005, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel in Thayer, with the Rev. Don Tabor and Rev. Charles Barnett officiating. Burial was in the Thayer Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Carter Funeral Home of Thayer, MO.
