Kate was very special to us. We would stay with her quite often. I remember going for many walks with her. The time I spent with her was always enjoyable. She treated her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children.

She was a homemaker and home provider, taking care of her parents until their deaths. She attended the Muskogee School for the Blind.

She also raised one of her nieces along with her mother and sister Ellen (Nellie). She always liked kids and was our favorite aunt, especially as children.

At Kate's funeral while we were in procession from the church to the cemetery, someone decided not to show the funeral procession the respect that is customary and went flyng past all the cars. One of our police escort respectfully abandoned us, turned his lights on and went to explain courtesy to the driver of that car. We cheered him on as we were glad for Kate to get the respect that she deserved.
