YAKIMA - Hildagarde Wandler, 75, of Yakima, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2008 at her residence. She was born on June 6, 1932 in Selfridge, North Dakota to Ellis and Agatha (Steckler) Gross. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in Seattle in 1949. She had lived in the Yakima Valley for over 40 years. Hildagarde had worked as a fruit sorter for Roche and Washington Fruit. Her hobbies included crocheting, baking, gardening and playing with her grandkids and great grandchildren. She was a member of the V.F.W.
Hildagarde is lovingly survived by her two daughters; Linda (Mike) Krause of Mt. Vernon, and Sharon (Jerry) Peckman of Yakima, a sister Lucy Harmon of Spokane, eleven grandchildren; Kelly Whitnall, Craig Page, Melissa Peckman, all of Yakima. Carrie Basher, Kevin Krause, Josh, Jenny, and Jessie Krause all of Mt. Vernon, Corina, Chris, and Andrea Wandler, all of Yakima, twelve great-grandchildren, whom she loved very much and they were "the apple of her eye".
Hildagarde was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters and her loving son Brad Wandler.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Cremation will follow with inurnment at Calvary Cemetery.
