David "Dave" Robbins 55, Indianapolis, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday April 3, 2008 while working. The son of Anna and the late Arnold Robbins, Dave was born on December 27, 1952 in Indianapolis. Dave attended George Washington High School and graduated in 1970. On June 12, 1981 Dave married Jacqueline "Jackie" Robbins, his devoted, adoring wife of 27 years. Dave owned his company, Robbins Glass, and remained the sole proprieteroperatoremployee for the past 20 years. Dave's second job and first passion was his affiliation with the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Aside from his fondness for open wheel racing and collection of memorabilia, Dave was instrumental in the restoration (by offering his expertise in cutting and installing custom glass windshields) of several of the vintage automobiles showcased in the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. Dave was a loving and kind husband, son, brother, father, nephew, cousin, and grandfather. His grandchildren were a daily topic of conversation with him, and he generally used words like "perfect" and "special". Dave was also a generous and bighearted friend who was loved and respected by all who knew him. Dave is survived by his wife Jackie; his mother Anna; his sons Mark Jacobs (wife Anessa) and Neil Jacobs (wife Megan); and his grandchildren Sydnee Lewis, Evan Jacobs, and Gracie Jacobs. His brother Dan (wife Sharon) and sister Deena (husband Robbie) also survive. Dave was preceded in death by his father, Arnold Robbins.
