Elsie M. Carnes peacefully passed away on August 21, 2023 in Sherman, Texas. She was born on January 19, 1936. She is survived by three of her sisters Belle Lindsey of Kansas, Jackie Tipton of Sherman, and Marilyn Everett of Sachse. Also, her three children Kevin and his wife Elise Wallace of Allen, Charmaine Wallace of Sherman, and Jerri and her husband Jeffrey Sparks of Leonard. Also, her Grandchildren Melissa and Rick Belanger of Melissa, Joshua and Haylie Sparks of Leonard, and Kaitlyn, and Luis Robles of Dallas. And lastly her great grandchildren Katy and Jacob Gallimore and Emma Sparks. She is preceded in death by her Loyal and loving husband Gayle Carnes, her sister Helen Wilde, her brother June Tipton, her first Husband Bob Wallace, and her mother and father Delma and Eula Tipton.

Elsie was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Friend. She had a heart after Jesus and was a devoted member of First Baptist Sherman. Her and her husband Gayle loved the senior center in Sherman and dancing the foxtrot, two step, and lots of other fun dances. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and loved to dress up in purple and red with her red hat ladies! She did a lot of traveling with her daughter and granddaughter making two road trips from Texas to Boston and loved going to the beaches of Florida with them as well and loved finding lots of shells. Her last year has been filled with lots of laughs and cuddles from her sweet great granddaughter Emma. As much as she loved being with all her family on earth, she longed to be with her Heavenly Father and has finally gotten to take His hand and walk with Him like she has always talked about.

Graveside Services will be held 11am Monday, August 28, 2023 at Fitzhugh Cemetery, Lucas, Texas. Dr. Pastor Mike Lawson will officiate. A visitation will be held 3-5pm Sunday, August 27, 2023 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Whitewright, Texas.
