Michael Ryan Speegle was born in Speegleville, Texas, on Oct. 24, 1886, to Philip Bible Speegle (oldest son of pioneer Israel Washington Speegle and Susana Ryan Bible) and his third wife, Martha Ann Jones (daughter of Elias "Eli" Jones and pioneer's daughter Christian McLennan). Michael Ryan Speegle was the last born child of Martha Jones Speegle and the youngest son of Philip Bible Speegle.
Michael married Alma Cleveland Barrett on 27 Nov 1904 in McLennan County, Texas when he was 18 years old and she was 17 years old. They had eight children together; two, not surviving beyond infancy.
