Anne Philip Sidney was born on March 29, 1862 to Philip Speegle and his second wife, Belle Anne McDonald. Anne Philip Speegle, called "Sid," was the third child and only daughter of Belle Anne Speegle. Sid married William Jacob Crouch on September 19,1878. They had two daughters: Hattie, born August 12, 1879 and Mattie, born January 15, 1881. Sid died 12 days after giving birth to her second child, Mattie, who passed 8 months later.
