Mr. Adrian Heystek - 814 Mabel St., passed away Saturday afternoon January 8, 1977. Mr. Heystek was born September 20, 1899 in Colynsplaat, Netherlands, the son of John and Cornelia Heystek and had lived in Kalamazoo for the past 70 years. He was a member of the Third Reformed Church where he had served on the consistory and also served as a Sunday School Teacher. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for 38 years with the Miller Davis Company and was also a member of the Carpenters Union. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Lena Clapp, Mrs. Elizabeth DeFouw, John Jr. and Bert. On December 18, 1926 he was united in marriage to Helen B. Koster, who survives. Also surviving is one daughter and one son, Mrs. Jake (Karen) Dekkinga of Portage, James R. of Kalamazoo; four grandchildren, Todd and Amy Dekkinga, Susan and Ronald Heystek; several nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Langeland Chapel, 622 S. Burdick with Rev. Mr. Norman VanHeukelom officiating. Interment, Riverside Cemetery.
