He was the son of Omer and Emily (Monnier) Schwartz. On Jun 26, 1954, he married Marie Cordonnier, who preceded him in death.

Surviving are three children: Rick (Joyce) Schwartz, Minster, Linda (Doug) Francis, Russia, and Jeff (Linda) Schwartz, Tipp City; three siblings: Joan (Norm) Wright, Troy, Ruth Neargarder, Frenchtown, Mary Clark, Myrtle Beach; five in-laws: Doris Cordonnier and August Cordonnier, both Russia, Connie Cordonnier, Coldwater, Bill (Sue) Cordonnier, San Diego, CA, and Carol (Amos) Johns, Piqua; and five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a son, three brothers and a sister, all linked below; a granddaughter-in-law, Jaimee Francis; and two in-laws: Carl Neargarder and Barbara Cordonnier.

A member of St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia, he was an usher and a member of the choir. He was a veteran of the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and a member of the CWV Russia. He was also a Russia volunteer firefighter and a member of the Civic Association. He also volunteered at Upper Valley Medical Center for over 25 years.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Remy Catholic Church, Russia. Burial with full military honors to follow in St. Remy Cemetery.
