MRS. ALBENNIE SPANKS - A native of Mississippi and a resident of Mobile, AL departed this life on Tuesday, January 26, 1988 in a local hospital. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Robert Spanks, Sr.; one step-son, Mr. Robert Spanks, Jr.; two brothers, Mr. Ordway (Nettie) Barnes and Mr. Ross Barnes, Jr.; one sister-in-law Mrs. Lillie Mae Barnes of Gary, IN; one niece, Mrs. Elaine Oquinne; a host of cousins, one devoted, Mrs. Clara Griffin; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 29, 1988 after 5 p.m. from Union Baptist Church, Plateau, AL. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held from the Church on Saturday, January 30, 1988 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. A. J. Crawford, pastor and officiating minister. Interment in the Plateau Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hodges Funeral Chapel Downtown (Successors to Smith & Gaston) 701 Dr. Martin Luther King Ave., Mobile, AL.
