Our dear mother Irene (Leinweber) Buskirk sadly passed away on December 3, 2022 at the age of 84.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her. She also had many friends and was a well-loved member of the community in Bayard, Ne. Her funeral service will be held at 11am on Thursday, Dec 8, 2022, at the Bayard Church of Christ with Pastor Bill Ferrero officiating. Interment will follow at Bayard Cemetery. Viewing will be held 1 hour before service time at the church. It is respectfully requested that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Irene's honor be made in care of Sgnt Colton Levi Derr Foundation. Bridgman Funeral Home in Scottsbluff is entrusted with arrangements.
Irene was born in Morrill, NE. Irene grew up north of Lake Minatare, NE and attended Lake Alice school. She loved riding her horse around Lake Minatare. She married the love of her life Williamm David Buskirk on September 27, 1955, in Scottsbluff, NE.
They farmed north of Minatare until moving into Bayard in 1963. She loved to sew, quilt, craft, cook, bake, and crochet. She made and decorated many cakes. She made several wedding cakes for her children, grandchildren, and others in the community.
Irene was a member of the Bayard Church of Christ. She helped with the youth group and many youth trips. She was a cub scout den mother. She was an avid Harley motorcycle rider with her husband, and they loved to travel the country. She belonged to Ya'll Come Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include her children, Tracy, Bill, Carl, Jody, Sylvia and Duane and 21 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 16 siblings, one daughter in law, and one granddaughter.
