Gloria Ann (Schreiber) Leque, 93, of Ferndale, WA went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, August 5th, 2023. She passed away at her home surrounded by her family.

Gloria was born on November 3, 1929 to Adolph & Emma (Dahlberg) Schreiber in Bellingham, WA. After graduating from Ferndale High School in 1947, she attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada.

In the early 1950's Gloria began working for the Bellingham Telephone Company as a telephone operator. She then transitioned into a new role working at Bechtel Oil Company/British Petroleum where she met her then husband, Neil Leque and they married on March 13, 1954.

Gloria later worked for the Bellingham Technical College for 17 years and was employed as a secretary for Health Education Services. She retired in March 1994.

She then made the decision to continue to work in a different capacity for the Agape Home for Women & Children through the Light House Mission. She had immense love and compassion towards the women and children that she served.

Gloria loved the Lord, her family, relatives, friends and her church – the Baker Creek Bible Church, where she attended faithfully for many years. She enjoyed reading her bible, riding the train, shopping, traveling, watching the Seattle Mariners & Seahawks, fishing, gardening & playing pinochle. She had a love for dogs and horses. Although she never was able to own a horse, she said she would one day have her horse in heaven.

Gloria is preceded in death by her son, Mark in 1996 and her sister Lillian (Schreiber) Lancaster in 2014. Gloria is survived by her children: Lynn Leque of Ferndale (partner Jo Coring); Sharon Leque of Ferndale; Julie (Monte) Littleton of Bellingham; grandson Nicholas (Tharyn) Littleton of Bellingham and granddaughter Madelyn Littleton (partner Olivia Lord) of Blaine WA. Nephew David (Susan) Lancaster of Ferndale, niece Debbie (Don) Henney of Lorton, Virginia and niece Sheryl (Kiyo) Takai of Japan.

A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 1:00pm at Christ the King Community Church, Bellingham WA.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Agape Home for Women & Children through the Light House Mission.

Gloria's Lifelong Desire: But I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead. I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize which God, through Christ Jesus is calling us.
