Abraham Stiefel, one of the pioneer motion picture theatre owners in Philadephia, died yesterday after along illness at his home in Garden Court Apartments 47th and Pine Sts. He would have been 70 tomorrow. Born in Russia, Mr Stiefel came to this country as a boy and had lived in Philadelphia for 50 years. At one time he owned more than a score of theaters in the city. In recent years he had leased most of the theaters to Warner Brothers. Mr Stiefel is survived by his wife, Annie; three sons, Samuel, Nathan, and Alexander; and two daughters Mrs. Dinah Epstein of Washington, and Mrs. Sophia Rosen.
