ELIZABETHVILLE - Daniel "Pickle" Hoke, 49, of 3353 Armstrong Valley Road died Friday in the Lebanon Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was an employee of Quaker Oats in Shiremanstown and an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Surviving are his wife, Mary C. Hoke; five sons, Darrin L. Shutt of Halifax RD, Robert E. Shutt of Millersburg and Shane M. Shutt and James F. and Daniel L. Hoke III, all of Halifax; a daughter, Tammy L. Shutt of Halifax; three brothers, Roy E. and Howard H., both of Millersburg, and William L. of Elizabethville; and seven sisters, Delphia M. Enders, Beulah M. Bucher, Mabel E. Graff, Betty J. and Dorothy M. Hoke, Sarah J. Feidt and Carrie E. Buffington, all of Millersburg.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hoover Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

Viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
