VETERAN EMPLOYEE OF SANTA FE ROAD BURIED

East Las Vegas N.M, Dec 2---- The funeral of John W., Cook, Sr. who died Wednesday night, was held here Friday afternoon. Rev. R. S. Dunn of the Methodist Church officiating, the Las Vegas lodge of the B. of L.E. attending in a body. Mr. Cook was a pioneer resident of New Mexico having come here from his home state, Indiana, in 1879. He first located in the neighborhood of Glorieta where he operated a sawmill that furnished much timber that went into the Santa Fe railroad construction. Later he was connected with mines at Cerrillos. Since 1894 Mr. Cook had been in the Santa Fe railway's engine service, with head quarters here. He was pensioned by the railroad early this year.
