Anna Elaine Wheeler Mower was born on February 23, 1936 to Henry Vance and Ethel Marie Bills Wheeler in Milburn, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas, and her two brothers: Ronald V. and Edwin B. Wheeler. She is survived by her son Brad and wife Denice.
Elaine as a youngster and her family, all worked hard in Milburn taking care of gardens, animals and all that life entailed at that time. They shared a home with their cousins and aunt and uncle. So, Elaine was always close to them throughout the years. They got places with the help of their family horse for the most part.
Elaine was baptized in 1944, into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She met Thomas Mower after he moved to Fairview and they married on May 25, 1957, in Fairview, UT. After Tom graduated from Utah State, they moved to California so he could pursue his career in the U. S. Forest Service. They enjoyed California and made many friends, but came back often to Sanpete County, in particular to Fairview, Utah, where both their parents resided.
They had one son, Bradley Clay Mower, in 1964. They, of course, enjoyed him continually.
Elaine learned all the homemaking arts from Grandma Ethel. She was an excellent cook, baker, and became quite a gourmet cook. She was an excellent homemaker and kept her house beautiful and clean.
After Brad went to school , Elaine went to work at the neighborhood elementary school, doing tutoring for a variety of kids and helping the teachers for 20 years.
Elaine was always a beautiful and quiet lady who we enjoyed so much! We looked forward to their visits. They brightened our summers and holidays whenever they came to town! She was interested in cousins, nieces and nephews and of course always enjoyed Brad and his wife Denice when they came to visit. For much of her life she had a little dachshund named Fritz (or several of them). She enjoyed these dogs, and brought them home with her when she came to Fairview!
Elaine really missed Tom when he passed, and only survived 7 months without him, dying on August 5, 2023. She will be greatly missed. Thanks to all the neighbors, friends, and ward members, who helped both Elaine and Tom in their later years. Thanks also to all medical personnel who helped them with various things.
