Thomas Clair Mower, was born on April 11, 1933, in Mt Pleasant, UT. to Morley Mower and Mary Elizabeth Burnside Mower.

For much of his early life Tom lived in Spring Canyon, Utah, near Helper, UT. His dad worked in the mines. They lived in Spring Canyon until about 1950, and moved to Fairview, UT.

Tom was baptized in 1942 into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was active in the church much of his life and served in various capacities in the wards that they lived in.
He served in the Military, working overseas, helping with a weather predicting operation in Turkey, and etc.

He went to school clear through college . He attended college at Utah State University. One of his teachers recommended that he go into the U. S. Forest Service, which he did. He enjoyed his time there working in Northern California, for many, many years. They ended up in Susanville, California, after living in several other towns in the mountains.

He met Elaine going to the Fairview Saturday night dances! He helped Grandpa Wheeler with all kinds of jobs whenever he was in town.

He was always active taking good care of Elaine, Brad, and their home. After he retired, he decided to get another job working at a downtown hardware store, because he liked to stay busy.
One of our favorite things about Tom, was that he would bring a Christmas tree home every year, cut fresh, and then Elaine would help Grandma decorate it! It just wasn't Christmas until Elaine, Tom and Brad showed up! He loved to sing all the Christmas carols that we could play. We loved his laugh and his funny quips!

He died on January 8, 2023. He will be sorely missed! Thanks to all the health care providers, nurses, and helpers, of all kinds, not to mention dear neighbors and friends who helped Tom in his last years!
