He was born in March 1860, in Tama County, son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Grober. He followed the trade of carpenter.
Mr. Grober married Miss Alice Studebaker in 1896. She died in 1899 at Cedar Falls and later Mr. Grober married Miss Catherine Hill. Her death occurred in 1907.
Mr. Grober was a member of the Congregational church.
Surviving are four children, Lloyd C. Groper, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Lyman Miller, Detroit, Mich.; Mrs. Howard Leach, 223 West Second street, Cedar Falls, and George P. Groper, 727 Lafayette street, Waterloo; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Thomas and Mrs. Essie
Hicock, Telugu, Cal., and two brothers, George Groper in Washington state, and Curtis Groper, Iver Grove Minn.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Brown chapel, Rev. Paul Zieke, pastor of the Congregational church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
