Montrose, Sept. 25.
Just three weeks after his brother, L. E. Ross had passed away, Jay J. Ross, prominent valley pioneer, passed away at his home at Menoken, Thursday morning about 11 o'clock, after a brief illness.
Thus Is another of the quartet who came here in 1881 gone to his reward. The two remaining ones are Mr. and Mrs. Gus A. Frost. All four came here Sept. 7, 1881, and located here and the quartet remained unbroken by death until Sept. 2, 1936, when L. E. Ross passed away.

Services for the late Jay J. Ross, pioneer of the Montrose District were held from the Montrose Methodist Church Sunday afternoon. Mr. Ross waa one of the first settlers In the Uncompahgre Valley, and Sunday's Service was largely attended.
