John was the third child of James and Amy (Elder) Crawford, born March 28, 1836 in Seville, Ohio (Death Certificate #27380). Came to Missouri in 1880. Married 28 June 1857 Phoeba A. Brown with whom he lived 61 years. She died two years ago. Survived by one sister, Mrs Bacon, Indianapolis, IN, and a brother W.W. of Browning MO. (The Browning Leader-Record, issue Sept 2, 1920, said he was born March 7, 1836 in Medina Ohio.)
