Hilda Virginia Dovel Plum, 93, of Shenandoah, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023.

Mrs. Plum was born March 8, 1930, in Rockingham County and was the daughter of the late Ervin Lee and JoAnne Lam Dovel.

On February 12, 1949, she married Gene David Plum who died May 11, 1996.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Justin, Ernest, and Robert Dovel, Hazel McAllister, Dorothy Wyant; a granddaughter, Christina Marshall; a son-in-law, Millard McAllister.

Left to cherish her memories are a son, Terry Plum, and wife, Susan; a daughter, Cynthia McAllister; brothers, Isaac and Olen Dovel; sister, Phyllis Slye; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Kyger Funeral Home in Elkton with the Rev. Jim Bebber officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peters Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
