Marion Kilpatrick was the daughter of James Kilpatrick and Elizabeth Kirkwood (Landes) Kilpatrick of Paisley, Scotland. Marion was born in 1873, the fifth child of of James and Elizabeth. Marion lived the entirety of her all-too-brief life at the Kilpatrick family home on 7 Maxwelton Street in Paisley. In December of 1873, when she was only 3 months old, Marion contracted Scarlet fever. Two days later on December 14, 1873, young Marion died from her affliction. And two days after her young life came to an end, Marion was buried at Abbey Close Burial Ground in Paisley. In 1875, two years after young Marion's untimely passing, her parents James and Elizabeth produced the first of three more children they would have over the course of their lives. Had the fates allowed Marion to survive her infancy and live through to her childhood years, Marion's experiences would have included life amongst her seven siblings as the 5th-oldest of her sibling group. Rest in peace, Marion. You are remembered, you are loved, and you are not alone.
