Mary "Polly" was the daughter of John Putman and Charlotte King. She married Jeremiah Agler, and with their family they migrated to Liberty Twp, Van Wert Co., OH, where they lived in a cabin. Mary is known to have secured two of her children to the bedpost while she place a strap over her shoulders and a jug in each hand and walk to the spring to bring back water.
