Professional Basketball Player. For seven seasons (1964 to 1971), he played at the center and power-forward positions in the National Basketball Association with the Cincinnati Royals, Seattle SuperSonics, Phoenix Suns, and Philadelphia 76ers. Raised in Chicago, he made his initial impression on the basketball court during his years at Marshall High School, where he achieved First-Team All-American honors. He enrolled at the University of Cincinnati, where he played collegiate basketball and during this period, he contributed to the Bearcats capturing of the NCAA Title in 1962 and an appearance in the 1963 NCAA Title Game. Wilson was a member of the 1964 US Men's Olympic Team, which won the gold medal during the Summer Games in Tokyo. Selected by the Cincinnati Royals as the number 8 overall pick (territorial pick) during the 1964 NBA Draft, he totaled 410 career regular season games. He compiled 2,216 points, with 2,144 total rebounds. He had the distinction of being a member of the Seattle SuperSonics during their inaugural season of 1967-1968. He was inducted into the University of Cincinnati Hall of Fame in 1983.
