Mariano was born in Juana Diaz, Puerto Rico to the late Daria Burgos and Angel Malave.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and reading his Bible. Mariano was also known for his writing skills. He was deeply loved by his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
Mariano is survived by two brothers: Ruben Rivera and Nelson Rivera; four sisters: Carmen Mendoza, Gladys Rodriguez, Mirtelina Rivera, and Miriam Rivera; along with a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Mariano was preceded in death by his sister, Elsa Burgos.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday, August 4, 2023 from 10 to 11 AM at the Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Rd., Newark, DE 19702. A service in celebration of Mariano's life will take place at 11 AM.
Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, Delaware.
