Billy Edward Bilyeu, age 76 of Cookeville, Tennessee was born on Saturday, September 21, 1946 in Cookeville, Tennessee to the late Edward and Anna Sims Bilyeu. He passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville.

Mr. Bilyeu was a telecommunications technician retiring from GTE with over 30 years of service, then worked with Ben Lomand Communications in McMinnville for 9 years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and carpentry. He was a member of the Antique Tractor Association and Stevens Street Baptist Church also serving as a Deacon. He was a family man that enjoyed and attended every family gathering. He loved his grandson and would chase every ball team he played on.

He was a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran serving two tours of duty. He was very patriotic, loved God, his country, and his family.

He leaves behind his wife of 53 years: Doris Langford Bilyeu of Cookeville; daughter and son-in-law: Stephanie and Jeff Slagle of Cookeville; grandson: Wyatt and Chassady Slagle of Crossville; and great granddaughter: Lennox Slagle, his number one girl.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, July 29th from the Chapel of Goff Funeral Home with Alvena Vaughn and Rev. Scott Parkinson officiating. Interment followed in the Shady Grove Community Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.
