Joe was born May 25, 1949, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Dewey Bell and Nellie Vernon (Dickson) Jett. He worked at ICP in Lewisburg prior to his retirement when he was able to enjoy farming and raising goats. He enjoyed riding his four-wheeler, spoiling his dog, Lucy, and watching the Little League World Series. More often than not, he would correctly predict the winner of the series. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six sisters, Jennie Mai Lee, Mary Frances Moore, Edna Louise Cook, Katie Bell Stinnett, Elsie Marie Smith, and Helen Virginia McAdams; five brothers, Virgil Myrland Jett, Thomas Bell Jett, Franklin D. Roosevelt Jett, Charles Critt "Charlie" Jett, and Leonard Jett.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy (Young) Jett, Lewisburg; daughter, Angela "Angie" (Will) (Young) Rogers, Lewisburg; sons, Mickey Jett of Lewisburg and James "Greg" (Carolyn) Jett of Spring Hill; three grandchildren, Audrey Rogers, Benjamin Jett and Joseph Jett; sisters, Daisy Cozart, Dorothy McRedmond, and Martha Drake; mother-in-law, Dorothy (Ervin) Young.
Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, July 28, 2023, at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
