Marie Schumacher Thiede was the daughter of Johann Jochim Heinrich Schomacher and Anna Sophie Dorothee Fedder and the wife of John Thiede. Marie's maternal grandfather was Carl Heinrich Fedder. Her parents married 18 Nov 1825 in Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Marie was born in Gross Trebbow, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany. She was christened 16 Oct 1831 in Barner Stueck, Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Marie (Mary) had eight children, only three of whom lived to adulthood. She died of Bright's disease (kidneys).
