Richard F. Zoss, 96, of Washburn, IL, passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Carle Health-Methodist in Peoria, IL.
He was born on June 24, 1927, in Washburn, IL, to Elmer and Mary (Reber) Zoss. He married Nellie M. Kennell on December 21, 1954 in Roanoke, IL. She passed away on December 8, 2004.
Surviving are his son, Rich (Esther) Zoss of Mt. Dora, FL; and son-in-law, Dean Moyer of Metamora, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Lucy Moyer, sister Dorothy Hostetler, and brother Kenny Zoss.
Richard was a life-long farmer in the Washburn area. He enjoyed collecting and selling antiques throughout his life along with refinishing and restoring furniture. He had a love for the farm and raising farm animals and birds. Richard was well known for genealogy and his ability of remembering and telling stories of the past.
Burial will be in Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery in Roanoke, IL.
