Rosezina Barnes, 92, of Wardville, died Sunday, March 30, 2008, at a local nursing center. Born Dec. 22, 1915, in Blocker, she was the daughter of Charles and Ruth Raiburn Nichols. She attended school at Harper’s Valley and later married Raymond “Jack” Barnes in New Mexico. She was a homemaker and a longtime member of Harper’s Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending gospel singings, playing the piano, visiting with people and spending time with family and close friends. Survivors include a stepson and spouse, Jack and Sharon Barnes, of Sand Springs; a special nephew, Pete Hatridge and wife, Nancy, of Wardville; a sister, Marie Shields, of Harper’s Valley; two grandchildren, Barrett Barnes, of Sand Springs, and Beth Barnes, of Sand Springs; four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Stanley Shields, Roger Hatridge, Donnie Shields, Gordon Nichols, Gary Hatridge, and Ron Nichols. Honorary pallbearers will be nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Raiburn Nichols; husband, Raymond “Jack” Barnes; five sisters, May Belle Hatridge, Thelma Kelly, Irene Adams, Cedelle Williams, and Francille Guy; two brothers, Deward Nichols and Royce Nichols; two infant twin children, Roseline and Roy Dean Hammer, and a niece, Theresa Shields. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Harper’s Valley Baptist Church with the Rev. Craig Cochran officiating. Burial will be at Harper’s Valley Cemetery under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service of McAlester.
