Carey Adams Seela was born June 6, 1906 in Jasper County, MIssouri to Isaac and Zelda (Ridgill) Seela.

Carey married Edna Luella Holdeman on October 6, 1929 in Carthage, Jasper County, Missouri. Carey farmed and worked as a carpenter. They had one son. Edna died July 13, 1950. Carey and his son moved to Schaller, Iowa to be near Carey's brothers. They moved to Carthage, Missouri at the end of 1952.

Carey married Hattie Marie (Poncot) Willoughby on April 2, 1954 in Carthage. They moved to Costa Mesa, California in April, 1963 and returned to Carthage in September, 1964. Carey died April 3, 1978 and is buried by Edna. Hattie died September 5, 2000 and is buried by her first husband.

Carey's parents and Edna's parents had purchased adjacent lots in Fasken Cemetery. Carey and Edna are buried on the Seela lot. Edna's siblings, Carl, Minnie, and Bertha, are buried on the Holdeman lot. Relationships are shown on the genealogy marker located on the Seela lot.
