He was described as 5' 11", 175 pounds, black hair, hazel eyes, and a sheep rancher. On 13 Jan 1945, he qualified as a marksman with the M1 rifle. On 28 April 1945, he departed for the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and arrived on 17 May 1945. He served as a rifleman with 408th Airborne Quartermaster Company. He participated in the Luzon Campaign. He was awarded the Army Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Medal. On 12 Sep 1946, he returned to the United States and arrived on 22 Sep 1946. On 13 Nov 1946, Private Perfecto A. Quintana (Service #38-585-487) was honorably discharged at Camp Beale, California (WD AGO Form 53-55).
