Andrew Robeson (1880-1939), Auctioneer, of Brookline, Massachusetts and Newport, Rhode Island. Andrew Robeson "held the rank of lieutenant commander in the Naval Reserve. He was 58 years old. He is survived by his widow, the former Laura Patterson Swan; a daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Tidrick of Flagstaff, Arizona; and a sister, Miss Harriet Robeson of Hyannisport, Massachusetts. A military funeral will be held Wednesday morning, with services at Trinity Episcopal Church at 11 o'clock." Publication place: Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, United States.

Son of Andrew Robeson III and Abby Frances Knight. Grandson of Andrew Robeson and Mary Arnold Allen; and of Leonard Knight and Elizabeth Curtis Johnson. Elizabeth was a daughter of Moses Johnson and Anna Curtis Blaney Brewer, a daughter of Nathaniel Brewer and Elizabeth Curtis. Nathaniel Brewer was a son of Joseph Brewer and Rebecca Weld. The line from Joseph Brewer and Rebecca Weld his wife is documented by Andrew's mother, DAR member Abby Frances (Knight) Robeson.

The first Andrew Robeson was born in Roxborough, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a Quaker and an abolitionist. As a member of the anti-slavery movement, Mr. Robeson would have known Lewis Tappan of Massachusetts and New York, and many of the other men and women dedicated to ending the practice of enslavement and forced labor in the United States of America.

v. Andrew Robeson; b. 18 Aug 1787 at Philadelphia, PA; m. Anna Rodman, daughter of Samuel Rodman and Elizabeth Rotch, 2 Jun 1810; 1st wife; m. Emily P. Sumner 1855; 2nd wife; d. 8 Dec 1862 at Boston, MA, at age 75. He and Anna Rodman had 5 children. He resided at Roxborough, Philadelphia Co., PA. He resided at New Bedford, MA.
