GATESVILLE MESSENGER JUNE 18, 1981 MRS. YOUNG DIES AT 92; SERVICES HELD SATURDAY
Mrs. Henry (Grace Murrell) Young, member of a pioneer Coryell County family and a longtime resident of the Jonesboro community, died Wednesday, June 10, in a Gatesville nursing home. She was 92.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Scott's Funeral Home chapel and were conducted by Rev. Plez Todd. Burial was in the Ater cemetery. Born Sept. 23, 1888, in Coryell County, Mrs. Young was the daughter of the late Albert Murrell and Amie Murrell. She lived in this county all her life.
She was married to Henry D. Young on Dec. 31, 1906. He farmed and ranched in the Jonesboro area until his death in 1968. Mrs. Young had been a nursing home patient here about four years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gatesville. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. James (Imogene) Farquhar of San Antonio and Mrs. Walter E. (Virginia) Reynolds of Arlington; three sons, Dr. Henry D.Young Jr. of Leesburg, Va., Jack Young of Washington, D.C. and Maurice (Pat) Young of Jonesboro; two sisters, Mrs. E.L. Money and Mrs. R. C. Lane, both of Waco; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Her grandsons were pallbearers for Mrs. Young's funeral.
