Pfafftown July 10, 1928 - Nov. 23, 2016 Our sweet, wonderful mother, Doris
Rice Pugh, 88, passed away Nov. 23, 2016. She was born July 10, 1928 in
Roanoke, VA and was the wife to the late Bobby J. Pugh. Doris was the daughter of
Alice Rominger and John Friend Rice and the last of five siblings. She is survived
by her two children, Sherrie P. Horton (Joel) of Pinnacle and Robert J. Pugh of
Charlotte; two granddaughters, Lindsay Horton Runkle (Dave) and Whitney
Horton; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Plowman, Joseph Runkle, Kingston
Matthews; and a special niece, Judge Sarah Rice. We want to thank all her friends
and extended family for all your love, prayers, visits, and hymn singing. We also
want to thank two special friends, Marcy Sheets and Cary Lewis, for all you did for
our sweet mother. She loved you all very much. If anyone would like to remember
our mother in a special way, her favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Hospital.
There will be a private service in the mountains at a later date. "And all things,
whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
