Mr. Dix died at 8:15 p.m. Saturday at the Marshfield Convalescent Center, where he had been residing since Tuesday, Feb. 5. He had been in ill health for the past two weeks.
Burial will be made in Gate of Heaven cemetery.
Friends may call at the Rembs Chapel beginning at 2 p.m. today (Monday). Three services will be held today at the funeral home -- Christian Mothers Society rosary service at 3 p.m.; Knights of Columbus rosary service at 7:30 p.m.; and parish vigil service at 8 p.m.
Mr. Dix was born in the town of Rock, Wood County, March 29, 1889, and received his education in the schools there. After his marriage to the former Emma Cournoyer on Jan. 26, 1915, at St. John's Catholic Church, they moved to the town of Lincoln, where he farmed until retirement about 10 years ago. About five years ago they came to Marshfield.
Mr. Dix was a supervisor for the town of Lincoln for 12 years, a former chairman of the township and a member of the Wood County Board for 16 years. He also was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society.
Mr. and Mrs. Dix had celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1965.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, Charles and Lyle Dix, both of Marshfield, Myron Dix, route 5, Marshfield, Clifford Dix, route 3 Marshfield, and Daniel Dix, Clear Lake; a sister, Mrs. Elmo Beauchaine, route 1, Marshfield; 19 grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
