"Jake Edwin Rogers
Jake Edwin Rogers, 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2001 at the Copper Queen Community Hospital in Bisbee, Arizona.

Mr. Rogers was born in Bisbee Arizona on October 9, 1924 to Thomas Elwood Rogers and Frieda Althaus Rogers. He attended Bisbee Public Schools and was also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. during WWII. He worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Department of Correction. Jake was the owner and operator of a small ranch in McNeal. He taught leather craft to the 4-H clubs and he was a silversmith. He loved gardening also and was a member of the Grace Evangelistic Lutheran and the State American Legion.

Mr. Rogers was preceded in death by his first wife Ethel Rogers in 1977 and two brothers, Ernest Rogers and Thomas Rogers.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years Mary Morin Rogers of McNeal; one son, Jonathon Sterling Rogers of Mesa, Arizona; one daughter, Virginia Gene Rogers of Apache Junction; a step son Thomas A. Connore (Peggy) of Orange, Calif.; a step daughter, Elizabeth Ann Young of Redding, Calif.; two sisters, Edna Soles of Bisbee and Dorothea Littleson of McNeal; seven grandchildren; Leah Gehring, Shasta Rogers, Hana Rogers, Eyde Rogers, Jacob Rogers, Diana Merical and Scott Young; four great grandchildren and also several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2001 at 1 p.m. at the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Bisbee. Pastor Steven D. Spencer will officiate. Burial of cremains will follow at the McNeal Cemetery. All arrangements are being handled by Dugan Funeral Chapel."
