Ann Louise Wagner, 82, of Spartansburg, passed away after a brief but difficult battle with cancer on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 27, 2023. She was born on Feb. 27, 1941, to the late Guy and Kay Rowley of Spartansburg.

In addition to her parents, she is proceeded in death by her husband James Wagner; and her youngest sister, Jean Marie Rowley Sandoval.

Ann Louise is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Correa and son-in-law Diego Correa; and Linda Wagner, both of Pittsburgh; and two grand-daughters, Katy and Ally Correa, also of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by a sister, Marian Rowley Drake; and nephew, David Ranyak, both of Spartansburg; and a niece, Jazzlyn Sandoval, and nephew, Rowley Sandoval, of the state of California. And several grand fur-babies including her beloved Coco, Maverick, Rizzo and Crackers.

Ann Louise was a proud citizen of the small town of Spartansburg, and served it to her end. She was an active member of the community serving as the mayor of Spartansburg for four terms up until her passing. She was also president of the Spartansburg Fair Parade Committee for many years, and an active member of the United Methodist Church of Spartansburg, among several other community committees (Alumni, Lucy Morris Scholarship, etc.) She was always willing to participate and lend a hand where she could. Ann Louise was the consummate host, often putting other's needs above her own and always adding a special flair to every gathering she was hosting. That skill along with her social abilities were put to good use as the hostess at the Dutch Treat Restaurant in Spartansburg for many years and before that as a loan officer at the Corry Jamestown Credit Union. Her work ethic was unmatched. She loved her family dearly, all things tea related as well as a good mystery and she will be greatly missed by her loved ones and community alike.

Friends can attend calling hours at the Valley View Mennonite Church of Spartansburg on Friday, June 30, 2023, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11 a.m., also at Valley View Mennonite Church, followed by an interment ceremony at Rose Hill Cemetery in Spartansburg. Arrangements are under the care of the Bracken Funeral Home, Inc., 315 N. Center St., Corry.
