Died August 2, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 87. He was born on March 18, 1920 in Carryville, Arkansas, and grew up in Southeast Missouri near Holcomb.
Lt. Col. Robertson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise; by his parents, John Augustus and Lillian Pritchard Robertson; and by six brothers, Loyd, John A., Hal, J.B. and two others in infancy; and one sister, Gussie Cox.
He is survived by son Laurence Cottingham, his former wife Margaret, and their daughter Louise and husband; and son Leroy Street, his wife, Jane, and their two children Geoff Street and wife, Lisa and Sara Batt and husband, Evan. Survivors also include niece Tory Susac and husband, Ted, of Richmond, Virginia and nephews John Robertson and wife, of Kennett, Missouri, and Jeff Robertson and wife, of Birmingham, Alabama.
Robertson's military career spanned World War II (including Papua in the South Pacific), the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam War; during which he was awarded the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star. Following his retirement from the military service, he became an Administrative Law Judge for the State of Louisiana.
