Wilbur Leon Curtis, 59, of Parrish, Florida formerly of Galesburg passed away Sunday, June 18, 2023, at his home.

He was born March 14, 1964, in Chariton, Iowa, the son of Richard D. and Ethel M. (Noble) Curtis. He married Terasa Stout on February 11, 1984, in Hannibal, Missouri. She survives.

Also surviving are his daughters, Tasha (Dustin) Easley of Galesburg and Tech. Sgt. Alisha (Colton) Oliver stationed in Del Rio, Texas; three brothers, Wendell (Jerri Lynn) Curtis of Andover, Illinois, Wesley Curtis of Galesburg and Happy (Carmen) Curtis of Houston, Texas; two sisters, Veronica Curtis and Valeria Herren both of Galesburg and three grandchildren, Drake, Trevor and Bentley Easley. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Curtis.

Wilbur graduated from Mark Twain High School in 1982. He worked in maintenance for Farmland Foods for over eighteen years and later at ATS (subcontractor for Caterpillar) in the maintenance department before moving to Florida. There he worked as a Level 3 maintenance technician for Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Wilbur had a love for cars, either collecting, tinkering with them, or just attending car shows. He enjoyed fishing and spending time on the beach. Wilbur also collected horse figurines. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Abingdon and later in Florida.

Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services. His sister, Veronica Curtis will officiate.
