William V. "Bill" McCarty, 87 of Rushville, passed away on June 21, 2023 in Morristown. He was born on July 26, 1935 in Rushville, IN to the late Benjamin and Florence (Hatfield) McCarty. Bill married Eleanor (Bednarski) on September 1, 1956 and she preceded him in death on March 9, 2015. He worked at Ford Motor Company on the production line for over 30 years. Bill enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. He was a United States Army Veteran.
Bill is survived by his son, Thomas (Kim) McCarty of NC; daughter, Cheryl (Douglas) Kinslow of Morristown; brothers, John (Onita) McCarty and Charles Ray "Butch" (Janet) McCarty; sisters, Charlotte Stevens, Phyllis Frazier and Blanche "Bonnie" Glover. He will also be missed by 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, William McCarty and daughter, Pam Tellas; stillborn brother; Philip McCarty; siblings, Mary Robertson, Shelia Cross, Opal Deloris Frazier and Lou Foster.
Services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11:30 am in Moster Mortuary, with Pastor Jeff Edwards presiding. Friends are welcome to visit the family from 10:30AM until the time of service in the mortuary. Burial will be held on Raleigh Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association in memory of Bill.
