Thomas B. Hudlow was the son of Michael and Sarah "Sally" Goode Hudlow of Yellow Creek District, Lumpkin County, now Dawson County, GA.(Dawson County was formed from parts of Lumpkin County in 1856.)

Hudlow married Susanna "Susan" Gaston and they had several children: Andrew J., Marion "Manny", William J., Susannah, Thomas Sherman, James, Cicero P., & Sallie Hudlow.

On June 5, 1860, Thomas Hudlow lived in Pickens County, GA and worked as a miller.

On August 4, 1863, in Jasper, GA, Thomas B. Hudlow joined the CSA, Company I, Cherokee Legion (GA State Guards), Captain James Bruce's Company as a private. He served until January 28, 1864 until he was transferred to Captain Harbins Company, Georgia State Guards, June 3, 1864.

I suppose Hudlow wanted to be on the winning side, for later on, he joined the Union Army and served as a private in the 1st Battalion, Georgia Infantry, Company B.

On June 21, 1870, Hudlow lived in Pickens County, GA. He was working as a farmer.

On October 12, 1877, T.B. Hudlow's brother, Joseph, died, and his children came to live with them: Missouri, Paralee and Luke E. Hudlow ( eight year old Luke was adopted by Thomas and Susan.).

On June 4, 1880, Hudlow lived in Roswell, Cobb County, GA. His occupation was "drives wagon". His children were all working at the Roswell Mills. Perhaps he brought people to and from the mills?

The historical marker in this cemetery is incorrect. There were many burials after 1860. I believe there are many people buried here who worked in the mills. The cemetery is very close to the Roswell Mills.
