OBITUARY

The community was shocked Sunday, October 10, 1909 when it received the news of the death of Mrs. Jemima Heckinger at her home on the Williams Divide. The untimely death was the result of pneumonia she having been sick only a week. The deceased, formerly Cora Miller, was born May 25, 1844, in the state of Iowa. Later she removed to Missouri and from thence to Lead City and about nineteen years ago arrived in Crook county, where she made her home until the time of here death. In the year 1868 she was united in marriage to John Heckinger to which union were born five children, two boys and three girls, all of whom survive and morn her departure. About ten years ago her husband met his death in a railroad accident near Hot Springs, S.D. Mrs. Heckinger was a member of the M. E. Church, a noble citizen, a kind mother. She numbered her friends by those who knew her, all of whom extend their sincere sympathy to bereaved relatives.

Funeral services were conducted in the Sundance M. E. Church Tuesday afternoon by Rev, Klein and the remains were laid to rest in Mt. Moriah cemetery.
