Clarence Ernest Ellis, son of George and Elizabeth Ellis was born in Marshalltown, MO on March 7 1888. Clarence attended school in Missouri and was united in marriage with Miss Nellie Parcel in Centerville, Iowa. the family has lived near Austin since 1929 and Mr. Ellis was engaged in farming.
Mrs. Ellis passed away in 1955, and for the past nine years Mr. Ellis has lived in Austin. At the time of his death at St. Olaf Hospital on February 6, he resided at 1203 9th Ave S.W. in Austin.
Funeral Services were held at the Jordan Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Stanley Hanks officiating. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery with Robert Dunfee, Ronald Ellis, Carl Ellis, gary Ellis, Delmer Ellis and David Weiss serving as pall bears.
Mr. Ellis is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Dunfee (Virginia), Mrs. pat Curtin (Clara) Austin, Mrs. John Weiss (Grace) Springfield Minnesota., Mrs Joe Infante (Marjorie) St. Paul Minnesota, Mrs. William Dretchel (Dorothy) Saint Paul Minnesota, five sons, Herbert Ellis, Auburn california, Clyde Ellis, Austin Minnesota, Robert Ellis, Saint Paul, Minnesota, Max Ellis, Lyle Minnesota Arthur Ellis, Sacramento: 40 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Adams, Centerville, Iowa.
Mr. Ellis was also preceded in death by a son, George Ellis.
