Donald Ray Watts, (64), of McAlester, OK passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 from this earthly home to rest and await the Lord's judgment for his mansion in his Heavenly home with Him.

The family will greet friends on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and a "Celebration of Life" memorial service will be planned for a later date.

Viewing and cremation arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home.

On August 29, 1958, a son and a daughter were born to Wade A. and Betty J. Garner Watts in Eufaula, Oklahoma. He was named Donald Ray Watts, the oldest of the twins who were third born to this union of six children.

He attended McAlester High School graduating in 1976 then went on to attend Langston University.

He was baptized and accepted Christ at age 12 attending the Metropolitan Baptist church in Muskogee, OK.

Donald worked for the State of Oklahoma Department of Labor as a Prevailing Wages & Workers Compensation Specialist retiring in 2013 after a 33-year career.

Never meeting a stranger, Donald had a huge heart and would go out of his way to help others. He loved God, family and was a friend to all.

He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife Julie of Haileyville, OK, his son and daughter, Justin Bennett of Norman, OK and Sharnae Galbreath, Oklahoma City, OK; his step-children, Kevin Kelley of Oklahoma City, OK, Aja Triana (Dominic) of Bethany, OK, Nicholas (Nick) Chatmon of Indianapolis, IN; seven sisters, Coluah Stanfield and Vanessa Rolan of McAlester, OK, Tia Watts Johnson of Yukon, OK, Carolyn Cox of DeSoto, TX, Dianna Willis (Don) of Tulsa, OK, Ensie Drumgo (Will) of Ada, OK, Lillian Ray (Tim) of Tulsa, OK; five brothers: Maceo Lynn Watts (Melissa) and Joe Watts (Deidre) of McAlester, OK, Lincoln Watts (Cathy) of Wichita, KS, Larry Watts (Diane) of Fort Worth, TX, James Watts of Oklahoma City, OK; sister-in-laws: Tracy, Kathy, and Vicci Chatmon, all of Oklahoma City, OK; brother-in-law: Victor Chatmon (Elaine) of Lansing, IL: five grandsons, 2 grand-daughters, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his, parents (Rev. Wade & Betty Watts), one brother (Charlie A. Watts), and both maternal & paternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, it is requested memorial contributions be made to the McAlester Boys & Girls Club where Don attended in his youth.
