Aaron Coller, 68
was pharmacist, owned liquor store
Aaron Coller, 68, of Princes Bay, a lifelong Staten Island residence, who worked in a West Brighton pharmacy, died yesterday at home of a heart attack.
Born in New Brighton, he was brought to West Brighton as a child. He moved to Grasmere in 1953 and to Princes Bay in 1961.
Mr. Coller was a graduate of Curtis High School and the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy.
He worked in a family-owned business, Coller's Pharmacy for many years. He also had owned and operated Coller's Liquor Store from 1950 to 1961.
He was a salesman on Staten Island for Distilled Brand Liquors and Peerless Importers for more than 25 years. He retired last year.
Mr. Coller also owned and operated an income tax preparation business in Princes Bay for more than 30 years.
Mr Coller was a past director of the Metropolitan Package Store Association, past president of the Staten Island Liquor Dealers Association; a life member and past chairman of the board of trustees for the Staten Island Els Lodge and a charter member of the Richmond Lions Club.
During World War II he served in the Army as a sergeant in the medical corps stationed at the former Camp Shanks in Spring Valley, NY.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marjorie Bazzurro; three sons; four sisters and four grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday. Burial will be in Ocean View Cemetery, Oakwood.
