Virginia T. Golke, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 9, 2023 at her residence.

Virginia was born on September 7, 1941 to Walter and Harrite (Gagas) Garski in Stevens Point. She was united in marriage to Jim Golke on October 26, 1963 at St. Albert's Catholic Church. They were blessed with 56 years of marriage until his passing on August 3, 2020. She enjoyed children and worked as a childcare provider out of her home for 42 plus years.

Virginia was called the "Dessert Lady" she loved making food and desserts for family events and gatherings, especially Christmas and Packer games. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, shopping trips with her daughter and morning coffee with the ladies on the patio. She was known for having full candy jars with everyone's favorites, and putting together 300-piece jig saw puzzles. Virginia also liked to play dice with her family and was happy to collect her winnings. She cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Virginia is survived by her loving children: Jodi (Jason) Miner, Kathy (Mark) Beder, and Jim Golke; grandchildren: Erin (Chris) Howard, Zachary Miner, Kalie (William) Abel, Katelyn (Alex) Depies, Skyler Golke, Jake (Briquelle) Reich, and Cassie Golke; eight great- grandchildren; siblings: Jerome (Arlene) Garski, Sandy (Tom) Mocadlo, Diane (Dave) Winkler, Mike (Joy) Garski, Jeff (Karen) Garski, Debbie Wagner and Lori Wagner; Brother-in-law Wayne Olds and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life Jim; grandson Kyle Schwanz; sisters: Bernice Garski and Judy Olds; Brothers-in-law: Lee Wagner and Rick Wagner.

Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Father Janusz Kowalski will officiate. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services Saturday at the funeral home.
