OBITUARY
"Mary Jane Ball"
Mary Jane Ball was born December 13, 1846 in New Discovery, Indiana and departed this life September 28, 1936 at Canton, Oklahoma. Her early life was spent in Indiana.
On December 27, 1870 she was united in marriage to Ruben P. Adams. To this union nine children was born, after her marriage they resided in Indiana until 1878, then they moved to Nodaway County, Missouri where they resided for a number of years, moving to Sedgwick county, Kansas in 1883, where they lived for five years moving from there to Pratt County, Kansas in 1892. In November 1898, Mrs. Adams with her husband and family moved to Oklahoma. For a number of years they lived on a farm near Canton, moving to Canton in 1910, where Mr. Adams passed away on September 5, 1930. Mother Adams continued to live at the home with her son Oscar until her death.
She is survived by five sons, Oscar at home, Edgar and Ben of Canton, Toney of Cullison, Kansas and Oliver of Pratt, Kansas. Three daughters, Mrs. Ella Whitney, Mrs. Doshia Bennett and Mrs. Grace Young all of Canton. One son Charles Wesley preceded her in death in 1927.
In early life she united with the New Discovery Baptist Church of Indiana and lived a faithful Christian life.
Rev. Clark of Taloga conducted the services and Rev. C.E. Callison assisted.
Besides her children above mentioned she also leaves to morn 33 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and a host of friends.
